Gilbert Arenas Been Done With Manners..

Arenas displayed his categorical system of female BBM contacts to the world.

Despite being notorious for keeping firearms in his locker to handle unpaid gambling debts with his own teammates, Gilbert Arenas is seen generally as a good guy. His lady fans may not have been in agreement with that notion after Arenas changed his Twitter avatar to his Blackberry Messenger contact list- 33 ladies categorized in ‘Best at fellatio,’ only 1 in ‘Girls I respect,’ 38 ‘Girls who gave it up on 1st nite,’ and 35 other ‘Girls who like girls.’ Pretty impressive list from a bros perspective, but I doubt any of his BBM ladyfriends will be contacting him anytime soon. Also note his self caption: ‘Jefe’ and the modest tagline of ‘There can only be one me.’ Touche, Gilbert.

If Cape Cod, Florida, or even the Bahamas isn’t doing it for you anymore, dropping some serious coin on a place in The Maldives could bring you as close to paradise as you can get. The luxury resort is located in the heart of the Maldives Islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The luxury resort runs you $1,770 a night and gives couples the option of staying in their underwater suite, located five meters below sea level and surrounded by beautiful exotic fish. They have 50 houses on stilts as well as 79 private and beach villas. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Michigan, Texas Dominating College Football Recuiting World

Big Blue has a number of prized recruits committed to this year's class.

Rivals.com has released their first look at who is on top of the recruiting rankings this year, and in the #1 spot belongs to Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns. While they haven’t held onto that top spot since Vince Young was a senior in high school, they have already gotten commitments from 12 4-star recruits and one 5-star (Aledo, TX Running Back Johnathan Gray.) Other Texas commitments include  Austin, TX Wide Receiver Cayleb Jones and Denham, TX D-Tackle Malcom Brown. The surprising school in the #2 spot is the Michigan Wolverines- after giving Brady Hoke the Head Coaching position they have a full head of steam recruiting-wise. They already have 20 commits, including Offensive Linemen Kyle Kalis and Erik Magnuson. The highest ranked Linebacker in Michigan will also be attending, Royce Jenkins-Stone. Not too bad considering the lackluster season the Wolverines have endured in the past few years.

Florida State, Florida, and Miami fill out the #3, 4 and 5 spots on the list. After that falls a number of big-name schools: LSU, Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and USC. These marks are all tentative, of course, as no one is officially going anywhere until National Signing Day in February, and these high school superstars have been known to jump ship last-second. Whatever uniform these guys suit up in come Saturdays, It’s shaping up to be another exciting season in the college football world.

NFL Action: The Quarterback Carousel Turns

Matt Hasselbeck will be behind center for the Titans next year.

Since the Lockout was lifted, the front offices of every NFL team have been scrambling to make a full offseasons worth of roster moves before training camps and the Pre-Season get underway. The shake-ups that we’ve seen so far include some considerable QB relocations.

Matt Hasselbeck has reached a multi-year agreement with the Tennessee Titans, as Seattle made it pretty clear that their relationship with the 35-year old veteran playcaller was over. As the Titans will use Hasselbeck to help groom the cannon-armed Jake Locker, the Seahawks weren’t waiting around, as they have already agreed to a deal with the athletic but inconsistent Tarvaris Jackson. A roll of the dice for Pete Carroll and company. In turn the Vikings have worked out a trade to acquire Pro-Bowler Donovan McNabb from the Redskins.

The Redskins have signed Santana Moss and Donte Stallworth to bulk up the receiving corps, but they are in dire need of a QB. Rumblings of Favre returning (again) have already begun- spare me. In the meanwhile, Paul Posluszny signed a 6-year deal with the Jaguars, leaving the Bills in desperate need of an inside linebacker. With the third most cap space in the league right now, Buffalo needs to be proactive in the market to stay competitive in the AFC East. The Bills returned to Ralph Wilson Stadium yesterday, and one player that isn’t on the hot seat is Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is being given the reigns of this Buffalo offense heading into the 2011 season. How he will respond to the pressure is anyone’s guess, but he played well in his time calling the shots last year, so there is reason to be optimistic.

RockSmith X Wu-Tang Brand Summer 2011 Collection

The RockSmith brand took the liberty of honoring Wu-Tang with this year’s summer lineup of t-shirts and tanks, and they couldn’t have done any better. The lookbook above features hip-hop well knowns Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Machine Gun Kelly, Stalley, Fonzworth Bentley, and the LEP Bogus Boys. Peace Gawd, I’ve got my eyes set on one of those Method Man tees or the RZA Bobby Digital shirt.

‘Rolling Papers’ Goes Gold, Wiz Khalifa Gets Back to Work

Wiz and Atlantic Records celebrate Gold.

It was not long ago that Flight School, Deal or No Deal and Kush & Orange Juice was all Wiz Khalifa had to boast on his resume. After a bidding war over his talents, he ultimately signed with Atlantic Records and began working on his first major-label release. The album would be called Rolling Papers, and it would become one of the most hotly debated albums of the 2011 release line-up. Led by the radio-ready production of tracks like ‘Black and Yellow’ and ‘Roll Up,’ the album’s sugar-coated production and Wiz’ noticeably toned down lyricism didn’t sit well with everyone. There is no denying that Wiz can rap- he proved that on his three prior mixtapes that bumped the speakers of every pothead from Pitt to Cali- but it seems that he figured out he could make more money if we works the system with the Atlantic suits, creating a number of mainstream sing-along songs that could work the simple-minded 15 and up crowd.

Khalifa Covers Rolling Stone.

Not everyone loved it, but the plan to sway towards Pop seemed to work- he got Gold. 2011 has been a huge year for the kid from Pittsburgh. But after the confetti settled and the champagne hangovers subsided, he was right back in the studio with mentor Curren$y and newest G.O.O.D Music prodigy Big Sean as the trio dropped 5 fire tracks 5 days in a row- ‘O.T.T.R. (Off To The Races),’ ‘Flowers,’ ‘Weed Brownies,’ ‘Dot, Dot, Dot,’ and ‘Proceed.’ Young Khalifa goes harder on these tracks then he does any song on Rolling Papers, and now fans are speculating that these three could have a mixtape project in the works. For our sake, let’s hope so. At a time when Jay-Z and ‘Ye are stealing the spotlight with the Watch The Throne release date creeping forth, Wiz’s return to the lyrical mastery that got him here in the first place might be stealing the show.

Madden ’12 Scrambles for Completion; Hits Stores August 30

Hillis holds down the Main Screen.

With the suits and the players coming to terms with this new Collective Bargaining Agreement, American men everywhere thanked their lucky stars and went out to pick up their Fantasy Football magazines in preparation for the new season (probably should have waited until Free Agents get signed this weekend. Amateurs..). With video games becoming one of the most booming and profitable industries in our economy, the moneymaking cow that is Madden will be able to see success once again- the threat of a lockout meant big dollars lost for the corporate execs’ that put millions of dollars into making these games in the first place. The NFL-licensed product features Cleveland Running Back Peyton Hillis this year.

EA Sports on the end of the Lockout: “We are thrilled, as fans of NFL Football, that a resolution has been met and that the season will kick off without interruption.” Thrilled, yes, but also rushing like hell to create the first round of roster updates. The discs are likely completed and packaged already, and with the flurry of Free Agent signing expected to alter the landscape of the NFL the logical move would be changing the teams up with the EA Sports online update. The EA Sports corporation also renegotiated it’s license with the NFL, only second in value to the television rights for this year. ‘Midnight Madness’ will occur across the country again this year on the night of August 29th- a timeless tradition.
